Boston Ski Party’s (BSP) mission is to promote the winter sports of skiing and snowboarding to youth in the Greater Boston area and also to provide opportunities for our youth to become leaders in their communities. Through skiing and snowboarding we strive to engage youth in healthy and active lifestyle. We aims to increase their confidence, build their skills, and ultimately enable them to advance and compete on local and national race teams.
Boston Ski Party began in 1974, and now our membership includes approximately 200 culturally diverse members of all ages, athletic abilities and socio-economic backgrounds. We operate year- round by providing our members (particularly our youth), a myriad of meaningful community service, leadership, athletic and social activities. We are one of 84 member clubs that comprise the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS).
BSP is truly committed to introducing skiing and snowboarding to underserved children of all ages. Due to the lofty prices associated with both of these popular winter sports, they have been perceived as exclusive recreational activities for the wealthy. Our constituency, however, consists of many families with limited financial resources. As such, in order to insure their active participation, we reduced, and in many cases, waived fees. By eliminating financial barriers, we created access to recreational skiing and snowboarding, as well as the opportunity for the underserved youth to compete professionally in a winter sports
BSP support National Brotherhood of Skiers mission to identify, develop and support youth athletes of color who will WIN international and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the United States and United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA).
